We plan to depart from the UK in August 2025 sailing down to Seville in preparation for our departure in September 2025.

There has never been a more opportune time in our history for this voyage to take place and its message heard. Climate change is real, whatever the cause, and the worlds reliance on fossil fuels is just not sustainable for the long term. We need to take care of the planet  we call home, for our children and the generations that follow.

Our modern world  runs at a fast pace and nearly all of us are ' connected'  to the information grid 24/7,  whether that is  for work or for social reasons. We demand instant access to the information we want, when we want it, and set schedules and deadlines that we expect to have met. All of it requires vast amounts of energy, and a large chunk of that energy comes from burning fossil fuels. That is just not sustainable.

Improvements and developments in 'greener' energy production and battery technology has, we believe, reached a point where a sail boat crossing an ocean now has a viable alternative to burning fossil fuels in order to generate the energy required to make that passage in the safest possible way. By taking on this challenge we hope to prove that to be true, and encourage other boat owners to adopt these developing technologies. 

We NEED to make a change, and change starts with action. This is my action!

There are numerous ways to get involved with the Carbon Zero Ocean Challenge.  These range from simply spreading the word amongst your friends and on your social media platforms, to volunteering your skills and time with the conversion to all electric drive, and even to crewing for part of the voyage. If you would like more information on how you can be involved then please get in touch. 

We will be setting up a Kickstarter campaign where those that want to, will be able to make donations to support the Carbon Zero Ocean Challenge.
